District 146 is seeking a professional Illinois educator as a Substitute Teacher. In most cases, the classroom teacher will leave instructions and/or lesson plans for the day and these are expected to be followed. This position is limited to 1199 hours per school year, 7.5 hours per day which includes a half-hour unpaid lunch.
Qualifications and Experience:
Valid Illinois Professional Educator License preferred. Will consider an experienced candidate with a Substitute License.
Must have experience working in a classroom setting.
Must be able to demonstrate effective classroom and time management.
Must have an understanding of the elements of Middle School and elementary school education.
Must have a passion for teaching children and helping them to achieve their best.
Must be able to work with staff, students and parents from a wide range of backgrounds.
Must have excellent communication and organizational skills.
This is an at-will position and an offer of employment is not a contract for continued employment from year to year. The employment relationship can be discontinued at any time.
Substitute Teacher $150.00 a day
Long Term Daily Rate - assignments for 20 or more days (FMLA or LOA)
$225.00/day with a PEL $175.00/day with a SUB license
