Job description

You are a licensed Architect with 15+ years of post-degree experience. You have a broad understanding of architectural design, construction, and premises safety.

You are already an expert. Robson Forensic will train you to be a forensic expert.

As an Architecture Expert, you will:

  • Investigate architectural and premises safety incidents.
  • Analyze documents and on-site conditions to determine the facts and issues at hand.
  • Write clear, scientifically sound reports.
  • Provide expert testimony.

You will delve into the "why" behind incidents, critically assessing decision-making, operational procedures, and the standard of care. It is extremely challenging work, but also an intellectually thrilling and rewarding experience. You will:

LOCATION: Dublin, OH (hybrid)

REQUIREMENTS

  • Education: B.S. or higher in Architecture and an active state licensure in good standing.

  • Licensure: NCARB membership w/ multi-state licensure eligibility; AIA membership a plus.

  • Certification: Certified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI), or willing to become certified.

  • Experience: 15+ years of post-degree experience, designing or working on buildings with a variety of Use Groups - Assembly, Business, Educational, Mercantile, Industrial, Institutional, Factory, and Residential, mixed-use; experience with code evaluation, specification writing and/or diagnosing building defects and design analysis; proven experience in construction, demonstrated through contract administration, construction management, design/build, and/or general contracting.

  • Additional Experience a Plus: Property management & BIM experience a plus.

  • Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of building safety and construction technology.

  • Skills: Excellent technical & analytical skills; strong written & verbal communication skills.

  • Ability: Safely climb/navigate ladders, roofs, scaffolding, etc. for inspection activities.

  • Work Style: Approximately 20% travel for inspections; the remainder is focused on analysis and report drafting, working independently and as part of a collaborative team.

  • Prior forensic experience is not required. We seek professionals eager to apply their deep industry knowledge to a challenging new domain.


    You must have a clean background screen, a driver’s license, and the ability to drive.
