Job Description
The Research Technician will conduct in-person interviews for research studies by administering web surveys in person with respondents using laptops provided by the department. They must be able and willing to enter the respondent's home or meet at an acceptable alternate location (i.e. library or in an office in the department) at the respondent's request. The Research Technician will collect hair and blood spot biomarkers at the end of the home visit and return them to CHRR. The blood collection is deliberately designed to be relatively non-invasive using either a Tasso M-20 arm device or an 18-gauge retractable lancet, both are commonly used by diabetics to check blood sugar. Hair samples will be collected by cutting about 50 strands of hair from the back of the head using brand-new scissors for each subject.
This position requires a valid driver's license and reliable transportation to make home visits to conduct interviews at various locations inside the I-270 loop in Columbus, OH.
The schedule for this position may include days, evenings, and/or weekends driven by the availability of the individual(s) being interviewed.

High school diploma or GED is required
Required Qualifications
Must be able to carry a laptop bag containing two laptops and accessories, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Must be willing and able to collect biomarker samples (hair and blood spots) with appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Research Technicians will be fully trained in blood collection methods and appropriate safety procedures for blood and hair collection.
