The State Library of Ohio invites qualified applicants to apply for the position of SearchOhio Library Consultant to be located in either Columbus, OH or Caldwell, OH.

Would you enjoy and excel at leading a statewide resource-sharing program? Do you have a passion for supporting libraries as they work to best serve their communities? Do you enjoy traveling throughout Ohio and interacting with library staff? Are you able to convey information clearly and concisely? Do you meet or exceed all the minimum qualifications listed in the Qualifications section for this position? If so, this position may be for you!
What are the position's duties?
  • Most of the successful candidate's time will be spent serving as the primary point of contact for SearchOhio member libraries (i.e. providing ongoing communication, guidance, support, problem resolution)
  • This position includes responsibilities related to training library staff on the SearchOhio platform and procedures, utilizing knowledge of multiple integrated library systems
  • Time will be spent working with vendors, coordinating system enhancements, and supporting system upgrades
  • Planning, prioritizing, evaluating, and organizing statewide resource sharing activities will also be a priority.

Qualifications
Master's degree in library science from accredited college or university; 12 mos. exp. in library science position performing budgeting & project management tasks or in management &/or administration; 5 yrs. exp. in library science position.
