The Communications Assistant frames, creates and publishes compelling communications that shift the scale in favor of working people and their families to achieve social and economic justice.
Duties and Expectations
  • Designing literature to drive contract campaigns and internal campaigns
  • Creating and editing videos for contract campaigns, training resources, and other materials
  • Working directly with PAD department on designing, scheduling, and producing campaign needs (buttons, literature, radio, tv, mobile advertising, etc.) 
  • Creating PowerPoint presentations and other digital design elements      
  • Writing compelling narratives based on a variety of data sources    
  • Working with a diverse group of Union Members and staff to deliver content on a variety of digital platforms like email, peer-to-peer texting, social media sites, and electronic newsletters     
  • Writing public testimony & press releases  
  • Developing and maintaining a strong list of press contracts 
  • Ability to carry out assignments in a competent and timely manner while exhibiting high levels of professionalism      
  • All other duties assigned to achieve our Union's mission and vision
