Job description

The Supervisor Cardiac Testing/Exercise Physiologist position is part of a collaborative team used to evaluate the cardiovascular health of COPC patients, along with echo sonographers, physicians, RNs and nuclear technologists.

  • Monday-Friday - 7:00am-3:30pm, 7:30am-4:00pm, OR 8:00am-4:30pm

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

In collaboration with and under the direction of a supervising provider, the exercise physiologist will perform the following core duties:

  • Prep patients for stress test by performing resting 12 lead ECG
  • Perform resting and exercise blood pressures during the stress test
  • Monitor the ECG for changes during the stress portion of the test, in conjunction with physician supervision
  • Apply and scan patient Holter monitors
  • Apply event monitors
  • Scan and index reports into patient charts
  • Participate in life saving measures when necessary
  • Assist in office responsibilities such as answering the phone, scheduling patient appointments, printing daily test schedules and completing patient charts

Supervisory Duties:

  • Supervise staff at all locations. Act as a resource to staff by addressing concerns and questions
  • Train new staff on testing protocols, equipment, etc.
  • Assist manager in completing daily schedules, billing-related tasks, appointment scheduling
  • Keep monthly department stats up to date
  • Order supplies as needed
  • Monitor troubleshooting of day to day problems (examples: difficult patients, equipment issues, building issues, etc)
  • Act as backup when Manager is out of the office
  • Monitor backlog of holter monitor completion
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education, Licensures & Certifications

  • Required: Active Ohio Driver’s License with the ability to travel throughout COPC’s service area.
  • Preferred: Masters Degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology or related field
  • Preferred: ACLS and BLS certified

Knowledge & Experience

    • Strong clinical background; experience at another cardiac testing facility preferred
    • Computer literate, especially with Electronic Health System (EPIC)
    • Strong analytical, organizational and time management skills
    • Ability to work independently with little supervision
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to cope well with change
    • Self-disciplined, energetic, passionate and innovative
    • Must be detail-oriented and highly organized
    • Must exhibit strong customer service skills
    • Ability to work on a team and display a positive attitude
    • Ability to identify, document, resolve and/or escalate issues
    • Ability to lead by example
