Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PCU/Stepdown position at a major academic medical center in Ohio, requiring 2 years of progressive care experience and active OH or compact RN license.
Details
- Mixed acuity PCU/Stepdown unit with 32 beds and an average daily census of 25–32 patients
- Cares for patients with varied medical diagnoses as well as pre- and post-surgical patients at PCU-level acuity
- Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM (3x12-hour shifts)
- 36 hours per week with every other weekend required
- Floating within the health system organization is required
- On-call responsibilities are required
Requirements
- Active OH RN license or compact RN license
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of recent progressive care (PCU/Stepdown) experience required
- Experience with telemetry and dysrhythmia interpretation and management preferred
- Experience with rapid response/code teams, IV therapy, blood product administration, central line and PICC care, heparin protocols, respiratory support, wound care, and pre/post-surgical patient care preferred
- Teaching hospital experience welcomed
- 2 professional references required: at least 1 must be from a Manager, Director, or formal leadership role (Supervisor); second reference may be from a Charge RN — no coworker references accepted

- Up to 7 days of pre-approved time off (RTO) may be requested and must be submitted at time of consideration to be built into the contract
- Ohio state fingerprinting is required and must be completed promptly after accepting the position — candidates outside Ohio will need to travel to an in-state fingerprinting location or complete a mailed fingerprinting packet as soon as possible upon receipt
- Scrub color and dress code details are provided at orientation
