Description:

About us

Safe and Secure Healthcare provides compassionate, person-centered support to individuals with developmental disabilities throughout the state of Ohio. We believe every person deserves respect, dignity, and quality care — and we’re looking for a skilled and dedicated RN to help us uphold those values.

The Registered Nurse (RN) will serve as the company’s primary clinical resource, ensuring the highest quality of care across all residential and day service programs. This position is based out of our Columbus home office but provides statewide support to direct care teams and individuals served.

The RN will work collaboratively with management, guardians, and healthcare providers to ensure proper medication administration, health assessments, and compliance with DODD and state healthcare standards.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Oversight & Compliance

  • Conduct regular nursing assessments and develop health care plans for individuals served.
  • Ensure compliance with all Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD) regulations.
  • Review and monitor Medication Administration Records (MARs) for accuracy and completion.
  • Perform medication pass observations and staff competency reviews per DODD requirements.

Staff Support & Training

  • Train and certify direct support professionals (DSPs) in Medication Administration (per DODD guidelines).
  • Provide ongoing clinical guidance to supervisors and site staff on individual-specific health needs.
  • Participate in on-call consultation to support staff in responding to medical concerns.

Quality Assurance & Collaboration

  • Participate in incident reviews and assist in developing corrective actions when medical issues arise.
  • Collaborate with guardians, physicians, pharmacists, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care.
  • Support the implementation of health and safety policies and infection control standards.

Qualifications

Requirements:
  • Active, unrestricted Ohio RN license.
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in developmental disabilities, home health, or long-term care.
  • Strong knowledge of DODD regulations and Medication Administration training protocols preferred.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and leadership skills.
  • Must have reliable transportation and be able to travel statewide as needed (mileage reimbursed).
