Job description

We’re looking for a dependable and detail-oriented Material Planner to support inventory accuracy, production planning, and material resource planning activities across MPW operations. This role works closely with production, engineering, inventory, and corporate teams to help maintain efficient workflows, improve material availability, and support daily operational performance.

What You’ll Do

  • Maintain accurate material resource planning (MRP) data and support inventory system integrity.
  • Generate inventory, production, and material planning reports as directed by leadership.
  • Monitor material delivery schedules to ensure production timelines and operational demands are met.
  • Coordinate with production, engineering, and operations teams to support workflow accuracy and inventory planning.
  • Assist with defining and maintaining appropriate inventory levels based on operational needs and production schedules.
  • Communicate inventory shortages, scheduling conflicts, and production bottlenecks to management in a timely manner.
  • Support production planning activities by generating pick lists and assisting with material allocation when needed.
  • Assist with shipping, receiving, and inventory support functions to maintain operational continuity.
  • Work with finance, IT, vendor, and master data teams to identify and resolve system or process support issues.
  • Support implementation and maintenance of inventory control processes and material planning best practices.
  • Maintain compliance with all company safety policies, procedures, and operational standards.
  • Provide hands-on operational support as needed to support departmental goals and production requirements.

 

What You’ll Need

  • Associate degree in business, supply chain management, material planning, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Previous experience in material planning, inventory control, production planning, or supply chain operations preferred.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Experience with ERP or inventory management systems preferred; JD Edwards experience is a plus.
  • Strong math, organizational, communication, and customer service skills with the ability to work effectively across departments.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and work at a computer or workstation for extended periods during 8–10 hour shifts.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and move materials or office supplies up to 25 pounds and support warehouse or inventory activities as needed.
  • Ability to work in office, warehouse, and operational environments with varying noise levels and changing priorities.
