Job description

QTS Data Centers is building out its supply chain capabilities to better support rapid growth. The Logistics Planner will be a key member of the supply chain team, managing the Order creation, change, and timely execution between our warehouse network and our project sites across the country working extensively inside the Oracle System.

We are seeking a Logistics Planner to lead the coordination, execution, and management of Systemic equipment delivery for projects. Collaborating closely with internal teams and onsite personnel, you will ensure the timely delivery, accurate tracking, and resolution of any logistical issues related to order creation and execution. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring project success by effectively managing the logistics of equipment delivery orders and allocation.

Being effective in this role requires a highly resourceful individual who thrives in a fast-moving, complex environment requiring strong emotional intelligence and self-motivation. The ability to influence & energize a diverse set of stakeholders towards a common goal will be a key factor for success.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Other duties may be assigned.

  • Generate Orders (Transfer, inbound, outbound) to flow to warehouse personnel for execution inside Oracle system.

  • Coordinate with upstream and project site leaders to ensure accuracy of material being requested and order planning as gauged against existing, inbound, and reserved inventory in Oracle.

  • Ensure accurate tracking of shipments by sites.

  • Track shipments and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders, proactively addressing any issues or discrepancies.

  • Coordinate with the onsite teams to understand their equipment needs by specified dates and validate against current ship dates and inventory reservations in Oracle.

  • Identify risks and potential delays in equipment delivery and communicate to senior leadership for evaluation.

  • Assist senior leadership in evaluating and adjusting equipment allocations at a program level, based on identified risks and priorities.

  • Coordinate business process documentation inside Oracle and improvement strategies with internal stakeholders, process owners, and subject matter experts.

  • Establish business metrics and reports to monitor and improve equipment delivery.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain, or related field preferred.

  • Previous experience in planning, logistics, or supply chain management, with a focus on managing inbound and/or outbound operations.

  • Proficiency in Oracle suite.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in PowerBI

  • Experience or familiarity with data center design and construction is advantageous.
