About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Credit Risk Specialist to join the Credit Enablement Strategy team. This role supports the analytics, monitoring, and optimization of credit strategies that influence how customers are evaluated, approved, and managed throughout the originations process.

The team provides insights and recommendations that help drive growth while balancing risk objectives across areas such as underwriting, credit line assignment, pricing, customer acquisition, and portfolio performance. This position plays a key role in evaluating strategy effectiveness, identifying trends and opportunities, and translating data into actionable recommendations for business and risk leaders.

Success in this role requires a combination of analytical problem-solving, business acumen, and strong communication skills. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with large datasets, developing data-driven insights, and partnering across Risk, Marketing, Product, Finance, Technology, and Operations to support strategic decision-making. Equally important is the ability to synthesize complex information into clear narratives, presentations, and recommendations for senior leadership.

In this role, you will: In this role, you will:

  • Support originations credit strategy workstreams, including underwriting, initial credit line assignment, pricing, channel performance, and portfolio monitoring

  • Analyze application volume, approval rates, booked account trends, credit quality, credit line assignment, pricing, and early performance outcomes

  • Monitor strategy performance and identify trends, variances, risks, and opportunities to support growth and risk management objectives

  • Convert data and analytical findings into insights, recommendations, and executive-ready materials

  • Use data extraction and analytical tools to summarize performance, diagnose outcomes, and support strategy recommendations

  • Support forecasting, valuation, and scenario analysis related to acquisition volume, booked accounts, credit exposure, channel plans, and strategy changes

  • Partner with Product, Marketing, Finance, Modeling, Operations, Technology, Compliance, Fair Lending, and control partners to align analytical insights with business decisions

  • Develop reporting, dashboards, recurring performance views, and standardized analytics to improve visibility into originations strategy performance

  • Support test-and-learn activities, measurement plans, and monitoring routines for credit strategy changes

  • Maintain clear documentation of assumptions, methodology, monitoring results, recommendations, and decision rationale in support of governance and risk expectations

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of Credit Risk experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience supporting credit risk strategy, originations strategy, underwriting, credit line assignment, pricing, or portfolio performance analytics

  • Experience with credit card, small business lending, commercial card, consumer credit, unsecured lending, or revolving credit products

  • Strong analytical skills with experience monitoring trends, diagnosing performance drivers, and converting findings into actionable recommendations

  • Experience working with large datasets, performance reporting, segmentation, strategy measurement, scenario analysis, or test-and-learn analytics

  • Experience using analytical tools such as SQL, SAS, Python, R, Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools for data extraction, analysis, reporting, or visualization

  • Ability to synthesize complex data into clear insights, executive-ready materials, and leadership-level recommendations

  • Experience partnering with cross-functional stakeholders across Risk, Product, Marketing, Finance, Modeling, Operations, Technology, Compliance, or control functions

  • Knowledge of credit policy, fair lending considerations, profitability measurement, portfolio risk indicators, or strategy governance documentation

  • Experience building or enhancing reporting, dashboards, reusable datasets, data quality checks, or standardized analytical routines

  • Strong written, verbal, and visual storytelling skills with the ability to communicate analytical insights, risks, tradeoffs, and recommendations to senior leaders

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time

Pay Range

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.
