Job description

The Axel Group is seeking an experienced Project Coordinator to join our client's team in Columbus, OH!


Position Summary


The Project Coordinator provides administrative support to the Project Management team, helping projects progress smoothly from planning through fabrication and delivery. This role is responsible for maintaining project documentation, tracking schedules and production, coordinating shipments, and ensuring project information is accurate. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing or construction environment.


Key Responsibilities


  • Provide administrative support to the Project Management team.
  • Maintain project schedules, milestones, and documentation in Smartsheet or similar software.
  • Track project progress from fabrication through shipment and communicate updates.
  • Monitor production schedules and organize fabrication documents, cut lists, drawings, and specifications.
  • Coordinate with production, engineering, purchasing, warehouse, and shipping teams to keep projects on schedule.
  • Schedule outbound shipments and prepare shipping documentation.
  • Support project managers with reporting, document control, meeting notes, and project files.
  • Identify scheduling issues and help resolve project-related challenges.
  • Perform additional project coordination and administrative duties as needed.


Qualifications


  • 2+ years of experience as a Project Coordinator, Project Administrator, Administrative Coordinator, or similar role.
  • Experience supporting projects in construction, manufacturing, engineering, fabrication, or industrial environments preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel; Smartsheet experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with construction drawings, blueprints, or fabrication documents is preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
