Job description

Who We Are

Action for Children (AFC) is the local childcare resource and referral agency in Central Ohio. Our mission is to transform the lives of children by supporting, empowering, and advocating for the adults who make the biggest impact on children’s lives—their parents, caregivers, and teachers.

We foster a supportive, collaborative, and mission-driven culture where staff are encouraged to bring their whole selves to work, grow professionally, and contribute meaningfully to the well-being of families and communities.

What You’ll Do

As a Triple P Facilitator, you will join AFC’s team of parent education professionals delivering evidence-based programming in Delaware, Marion, Madison, and Union counties. This part-time role averages 20 hours per week with a flexible schedule, including morning and evening hours primarily Tuesday through Thursday, designed to meet the needs of participating families and community partners.

  • Attain mastery of the Triple P curriculum and deliver evidence-based parenting services in group, one-to-one, in-person, and virtual formats
  • Establish and facilitate Triple P parent education cohorts in a supportive group setting
  • Coordinate ongoing recruitment and outreach to program participants
  • Oversee administrative aspects of the program including staffing, training, service delivery, and reporting
  • Ensure timely and accurate data collection and reporting on program participants and outcomes
  • Submit required program documentation to Nationwide Children’s Hospital (NCH), the funding agency for the project
  • Develop relationships with community organizations, parenting and early childhood system agencies, and local parenting partners

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Child Development/Early Childhood Education, or a related field
  • Experience facilitating program curriculum to adults in a group setting
  • Proficiency with technology, including database and spreadsheet applications and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work with families of various backgrounds and cultures with cultural responsiveness
  • Working knowledge of local and state community resources
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage both coordination and facilitation responsibilities
  • Demonstrated experience proactively identifying and eliminating obstacles to program success
  • Excellent written, verbal, and formal presentation communication skills
  • Understanding of how intersecting systems of racial, gender, and class discrimination shape conditions for early childhood educators and the children and families they serve
  • Desired but not required: Candidates who reside in Delaware or Marion County are preferred, as these are the primary service areas for this role

You’ll Thrive Here If

You excel at building rapport quickly with families from diverse backgrounds and feel energized by community-based work. You’re a strong problem-solver who can navigate a variety of situations with composure, and you bring the analytical mindset needed to manage both the facilitation and coordination sides of this role. You’re comfortable with a flexible schedule and value the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and families across Central Ohio.

Generous PTO  Vacation days, personal days, and paid holidays
