Job description

General Summary:  Responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records requiring tracking up to $40.0 million in inventory that is received, stored and shipped.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Maintains and processes wire inventory, includes balancing of inventory, balancing lots, moving inventory as needed based on usage.
  2. Maintains upkeep on all wire equipment to be in safe working condition.
  3. Processes all PORM’s, working with materials management team.
  4. Maintains bin locations status on new and existing inventory items.
  5. Conducts cycle and physical inventory counts.  Performs any necessary audits based on the results.
  6. Assists with layout and design of inventory and storage area considering ergonomic and production standards.
  7. Interfaces with external auditors during annual inventory control and risk assessment.
  8. Runs and prepares reports of inventory balances, shortages and discrepancies including, negative order report and supersedes report.  Maintains daily counter location report.
  9. Identifies areas of possible improvement in the inventory system.
  1. Resolves inventory issues/discrepancies, researches and performs inventory adjustments. 
  2. Creates labels for all warehouse part numbers and other uses as requested.
  3. Provides support for the wire and put away sections of the warehouse performing the duties of a warehouse associate as needed to meet customer service and production goals.
  4. Frequently lifts, carries and moves inventory on and off shelves; weight of product varies but can be up to 75+ pounds. 
  5. Reads and reviews all procedures and provides feedback to improve procedures and activities.
  6. Supports Quality Policy.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  1. High School diploma required, Associates Degree preferred.
  2. Minimum of two years warehouse experience required with experience in inventory control preferred.  A global understanding of all warehouse processes and procedures desired.
  3. Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment.
  4. Capability to organize, prioritize tasks. 
  5. Must demonstrate excellent analytical, problem solving and communication skills.
  6. Microsoft Office skills (basic to intermediate) required; hands on knowledge of Trend business system and Total Warehouse Logistics (TWL).
