As part of our involvement, Jefferson Industries Corporation offers design and development for press dies and other tools necessary to produce automotive products. We are actively seeking a Management Support associate to join our Production Control Department on 1st shift (core schedule, Monday-Friday, 5:00 am - 1:30 pm)

Job Summary

The Weld Scheduler – Production Control is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating welding production activities to ensure customer requirements are met while maximizing efficiency, quality, and on-time delivery. This role works closely with production, logistics, quality, maintenance, and supply chain teams to maintain a balanced production schedule and support continuous improvement initiatives in an automotive manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly weld shop production schedules.
  • Coordinate production requirements based on customer demand, inventory levels, and production capacity.
  • Monitor production progress and adjust schedules to minimize downtime and meet delivery commitments.
  • Release production orders and prioritize work based on customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with production supervisors to resolve scheduling conflicts and capacity constraints.
  • Monitor material availability and coordinate with purchasing and logistics to prevent shortages.
  • Track key production metrics, including schedule adherence, throughput, and equipment utilization.
  • Communicate schedule changes promptly to production, warehouse, shipping, and customer service teams.
  • Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks and recommend process improvements.
  • Maintain accurate production records and scheduling information in ERP/MRP systems.
  • Support inventory control by maintaining optimal work-in-process (WIP) levels.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies, quality standards, and automotive customer requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned 

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field preferred.
  • 2–5 years of production scheduling or production control experience in an automotive manufacturing environment along with HS Diploma.
  • Experience with robotic welding, resistance welding, or metal fabrication processes is preferred.
  • Knowledge of production planning, capacity planning, and inventory management.
  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, Plex, QAD, or similar).
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and data analysis skills.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Preferred Skills

  • Understanding of automotive production systems and Just-in-Time (JIT) manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Familiarity with IATF 16949 quality standards.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in both office and manufacturing environments.
  • Occasionally walking throughout the production floor.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) while on the shop floor.
