We're looking for a talented professional with expertise in hydrology and hydraulics, geotechnical, or structural engineering to join our collaborative team of engineers and scientists. In this role, you'll contribute to a variety of impactful projects, including hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, aquatic habitat restoration, hydraulic structure analysis and design, sediment transport studies, and dam and reservoir operations modeling. This position offers the opportunity to work on innovative projects that blend technical precision with creative problem-solving. Your contributions will help shape sustainable solutions for civil works projects that protect and enhance communities and ecosystems.
As a Civil Design Engineer, your primary focus will be:
  • Lead or support the design and construction administration of civil works projects, including dams, levees, and floodwalls.
  • Develop and review plans and specifications to ensure high quality, constructible designs.
  • Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to create 3D surfaces and design models.
  • Manage design and permitting tasks across multiple projects, balancing deadlines and technical requirements.
  • Oversee construction administration, including bid support, onsite activity coordination, compliance checks, change order management, and shop drawing reviews.
  • Coordinate with a multidisciplinary team that includes environmental, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineers to deliver comprehensive project solutions.

To be a successful Civil Design Engineer, you'll need to have:
  • A bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field.
  • Active Engineering Intern (EI) certification as a minimum, Professional Engineer (PE) license a strong plus.
  • 5-15 years of professional engineering experience, particularly in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling.
  • A proven ability to develop conceptual, preliminary, and final designs.
  • Excellent technical writing skills to produce clear, concise reports that communicate procedures and results effectively.
  • A valid driver's license with a good driving record, as well as a willingness to travel for project needs. Field experience and boat operation skills are a bonus.
