About the Role

We are seeking a Design Engineering Intern to lead validation testing and ideation for our Food and Beverage Research and Development (R&D) team. You will work closely with our R&D engineers, our validation engineers and our lab technicians to ensure new technologies meet YETI standards. You will be responsible for testing new products, ideating on new technologies with our team and reporting progress. You will gain insight into how R&D fits within a design engineering organization and how new technologies contribute to the product roadmap.

What You'll Do

  • Ideation of new concepts and product architectures
  • Testing R&D technologies at our off-site innovation center
  • Develop 3D, using Solidworks, for new ideas related to R&D
  • Research new technologies and manufacturing partners
  • Support Design Engineering and R&D as new engineering tasks arise
  • Share and present status of testing and progress with leadership.

What You Bring

  • Pursuing B.S. in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Plastics or similar engineering discipline (Junior/Third Year Students preferred)
  • Proficient in 2D, 3D CAD software (Solidworks preferred)
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • FEA analysis experience preferred
