Job description

The Department of Children and Youth (DCY) is seeking an experienced Salesforce Developer to join our application development team. In this role you will contribute to the development, support, and enhancement of our Salesforce applications. You will collaborate closely with Salesforce App Dev manager, Senior Developers, Business Analysts and Integration team to ensure Salesforce platform remains stable, scalable and efficient.
Salesforce Development
  • Develop, customize, enhance sales force applications using Apex classes, triggers, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flow, visualforce and SOQL/SOSL and Omnistudio Components (Flexcards, Omniscripts, DataRaptors, Integrations Procedures)
  • Proficiency using VS Code IDE for Salesforce development (including Salesforce Extensions Pack)
  • Perform code reviews and ensure agency standards are met
  • Translate the business requirement into technical designs and deliver solutions that follow the Salesforce best practices.
  • Build and maintain integrations between salesforce and external systems using APIs, middleware and integration tools. (Eg - Mulesoft)
  • Provide ongoing production support, including troubleshooting, and issue resolution for Salesforce and related IT systems
  • Stay updated with Salesforce releases, new features, and industry trends
  • Follow established development standards, coding best practices, and version control processes
  • Coordinate unit and system testing, manage debugging and defect tracking, and support user acceptance testing.
  • Use ServiceNow to manage incident tickets, communicate activity status, track problem resolution, and document remediation progress.
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), deployment automation, and release management.
  • Perform additional responsibilities and tasks as assigned
Salesforce Admin
  • Manage day to day configuration and maintenance of the Salesforce platform
  • Perform sandbox refreshes as assigned
  • Create and update users, roles, permission sets, profiles, and security settings.
  • Monitor data quality and perform data imports, updates, and deduplication
  • Perform deployment activities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Salesforce Platform Developer I (PDI) certification; PDII is a plus.
  • Experience with DevOps tools such as Gearset, Git, Copado.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
  • Experience with Public Sector Solution Object model/Omnistudio Components
Pay Information
Unless required by legislation or union contract, starting salary will be step 1 of the salary range associated with this position. New hires advance to the next step in the range after 6 months and annually thereafter. Based on collective bargaining and legislative activity, there may be cost of living increases awarded annually. Additional longevity supplements begin after 5 years. The current wage progression for this position is in the table below.
