Position: Registered Nurse - Palliative Care

Join our dedicated team as a Registered Nurse in our Palliative Care unit, where we focus on providing compassionate relief from the symptoms associated with serious illnesses. This role is perfect for nurses who want to enhance their palliative care skills while gaining experience in a variety of high-acuity medical-surgical units.

Unit Overview

The Palliative Care unit is committed to managing symptoms such as:

  • Uncontrolled pain
  • Severe nausea and vomiting
  • Failure to thrive
  • Significant fatigue

Your efforts will directly contribute to improving the quality of life for patients still undergoing treatment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of acute care Registered Nurse experience required
  • Current BLS certification is mandatory
  • Experience with EPIC electronic health records system is required
  • Previous travel nursing experience is preferred
Responsibilities

As a Palliative Care RN, you will be required to:

  • Float within units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed
  • Manage patient symptoms and collaborate with the healthcare team for comprehensive care
  • Participate in ongoing education and skill enhancement related to palliative care
Work Schedule

This position is for night shifts, requiring 3 twelve-hour shifts per week from 19:00 to 07:30. Schedule assignments may vary based on departmental needs and will be reviewed every 4-week scheduling period.

Agency staff have the following parking permit options available:

  • WMC Agency Permit: 24/7 access to the Wexner Medical Center Garage with guaranteed availability.
  • WB Permit: Weekend/holiday access to specified garages and 24/7 access to surface lots with shuttle service to the medical center.
  • CXS Permit: Weekend/holiday access to certain garages as well as 24/7 access to designated surface lots.
