Position Purpose:

In accordance withthe Mission and GuidingBehaviors;the Patient Transporter transportspatients, specimens, and equipment throughout the facility.

What you will do:

• Transports patients via wheelchair, stretcher or bed todesignatedsites as requested, including patients with oxygen tanks, intravenous pumps, drips,monitorsand other equipment.

• Assistspatients with entering and exiting vehicles, including transfer from or to wheelchairs or stretchers.

• Delivers equipment and specimens torequestingstaff or department.Assistsstaff with removal of deceased bodies from units and transport to morgue.

• Greetsandprovidesinformation and direction to patients and visitors.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Or attending High School

• Licensure / Certification: CPR "HeartSaver" Required by the end of orientation.

• Experience: Prior work experience in the health care field preferred.

• Effective Communication Skills

• Ability to lift and transport patients.

• Ability to withstandfrequent to prolongedwalking, standing,pushingand pulling.
