Quality Lab Support Specialist

Job Description ***Only qualified Quality Lab Support Specialist candidates located near Reynoldsburg, Ohio to be considered due to the position requiring an on-site presence*** Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Required Qualifications: Experience in a quality, laboratory, manufacturing, or warehouse environment. Familiarity with quality systems, product inspections, audits, or sample management. Experience using data entry or quality management software. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to accurately follow procedures and work instructions. Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Job Overview: The Lab Support Specialist provides essential operational and administrative support to the Quality team. This role is responsible for executing product audits, maintaining laboratory and product standards, supporting quality investigations, managing product samples and retains, and performing general laboratory coordination activities. The position plays a critical role in ensuring efficient quality operations and timely support of product quality assessments and investigations.

Key Responsibilities: This position provides critical day-to-day support to the Quality organization, helping ensure products, standards, and quality records are properly managed while enabling timely execution of audits, investigations, and quality-related activities. Audit Support: Execute routine product audits in accordance with established procedures. Accurately document and enter audit results into quality audit systems and applications. Communicate audit findings and support the quality team during investigations and follow-up activities. Product Processing: Process and release products from Quality Management (QM) hold status as directed. Review and manage first production samples for evaluation. Organize and store retained product samples according to established procedures. Standards and Reference Material Management: Maintain, organize, and store product standards and reference materials. Manage Product Design References (PDRs) and ensure appropriate storage and accessibility. Monitor inventory and coordinate disposal of expired or obsolete standards as directed. Quality Investigation Support: Assist with product testing, evaluations, and analyses related to quality investigations. Document product conditions through photography and visual assessments as requested. Support product sorting, rework activities, and containment actions in accordance with quality instructions. Assist in gathering data and samples needed for quality assessments and root cause investigations. Assist in entering quality notification data into SAP General Laboratory and Administrative Support: Dispose of non-saleable products as directed, including destructive audit samples, tested products, line trial samples, and excess product samples. Manage the purge and disposition of retained samples, standards, and PDR materials according to established guidelines. Coordinate incoming and outgoing laboratory and quality department mail and shipments. Maintain and update data files, logs, databases, and tracking systems as needed. Support overall laboratory organization, cleanliness, and inventory management. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move product samples and materials as needed. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform routine laboratory and warehouse activities. Ability to handle and organize a high volume of product samples and reference materials.
