Job description

Junior Business Analyst

Onsite (Columbus, OH)

Contract-to-Hire


Brooksource's public sector client is seeking early-career Business Analysts to support technology initiatives that improve business processes and modernize applications across state agencies.


This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems, working with people, and translating business needs into technology solutions. You'll work closely with technical teams and business stakeholders while developing valuable experience in requirements gathering, process improvement, and project delivery.


What You'll Do:

  • Gather and document business requirements from stakeholders
  • Analyze business processes and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Create process flows, documentation, and functional specifications
  • Collaborate with software developers, QA teams, project managers, and business users
  • Assist with testing, validation, and user acceptance activities
  • Support project meetings and help track action items and deliverables
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and project planning
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders while learning government business processes


Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, MIS, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or related field
  • 0-2 years of business analysis, project, internship, or related experience
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Comfortable working collaboratively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Internship or project experience gathering requirements or documenting processes
  • Exposure to Agile methodologies
  • Experience creating documentation, process maps, or presentations
  • Familiarity with project management or collaboration tools
  • Recent graduates encouraged to apply
