Job Title: Staff Accountant

Work Location: Mount Vernon, OH 43050

Work Setting: Hybrid Remote| Full-Time or Part-Time

About the Opportunity:

• We are seeking an experienced accounting professional to join a well-established accounting office serving both individual and business clients. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building strong client relationships, working in a collaborative environment, and contributing across multiple areas of accounting and tax services.

• The successful candidate will work directly with an existing portfolio of clients and play an important role in supporting their accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, and tax needs. While relationship-building is encouraged, there is no expectation for aggressive business development or client recruiting.

• Hybrid and remote scheduling flexibility will be considered for qualified candidates.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and assist with individual and business tax matters

• Perform bookkeeping and account reconciliation activities

• Process payroll and payroll tax reporting

• Work directly with clients to provide responsive and professional service

• Support and maintain an existing portfolio of clients

• Assist with ongoing accounting and financial reporting needs

Qualifications:

• Recent experience working within an accounting office environment

• Experience working directly with clients

• Strong knowledge of:

• Individual taxation

• Business taxation

• Bookkeeping

• Payroll processing

• Payroll taxes

• Strong communication and organizational skills

• Ability to manage multiple client relationships and priorities effectively

Preferred Experience:

• 3+ years of bookkeeping experience preferred

• Accounting experience within the last 5 years required
