Job Description


 

Turner & Townsend is looking for a Director of Scheduling to lead scheduling services for one of our exciting Data Center projects in New Albany, OH. This individual will not only be responsible for the delivery of successful scheduling services but also will assist in growing services with new and existing clients.  

Responsibilities: 

  •  Lead the creation and management of detailed, resource-loaded schedules for multiple construction projects, ensuring timelines are realistic and achievable.  

  • Collaborate with project managers, contractors, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop comprehensive project schedules, including milestones, deliverables, and critical paths.  

  • Establish baseline schedules and track project progress against key performance indicators (KPIs).  

  • Ensure effective communication and coordination of scheduling between various teams (design, engineering, procurement, and construction).  

  • Monitor and analyze schedule performance, proactively identify deviations, and implement corrective actions to stay on track.  

  • Prepare and present regular schedule updates and reports to senior leadership, clients, and stakeholders.  

  • Identify potential risks related to project scheduling and develop strategies to mitigate delays, resource constraints, and other scheduling-related issues.  

  • Facilitate schedule-related problem-solving sessions to resolve conflicts and minimize disruptions.  

  • Lead and mentor a team of schedulers, providing guidance and support for career development and skill enhancement.  

  • Foster a collaborative and results-driven team environment.  

  • Oversee the performance and professional growth of the scheduling team, ensuring high levels of expertise and competency.  

  • Establish best practices and standardized processes for scheduling across all projects.  

  • Continuously review and improve scheduling methods and tools, keeping up with industry trends and technological advancements.  

  • Drive innovation in project planning and scheduling strategies to improve efficiency and accuracy.  

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all scheduling-related matters, ensuring clear communication with clients, contractors, and internal teams.  

  • Facilitate regular meetings with key stakeholders to review schedules, address concerns, and adjust timelines as necessary.  

  • Work closely with project management and finance teams to ensure that scheduling aligns with project budgets and resource availability.  

  • Track resource utilization and recommend adjustments to optimize project timelines.  

  • SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable. 

Qualifications


 

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering or field related to construction. 

  • Graduate degree in quantity surveying, cost management, construction management, or engineering is preferred. 

  • 12+ years of relevant scheduling experience. 

  • 2+ years managing high performing scheduling/project controls teams in a consulting environment. 

  • Expertise in project management and scheduling software such as Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar.  

  • PMP, CCM, or other relevant certifications preferred.  

  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, project lifecycles, and industry standards.  

  • Proven track record in managing scheduling on large scale construction projects and programs 

  • Proven ability to manage complex schedules, meet deadlines, and work under pressure.  

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.  

  • Exceptional Business development acumen and ambition to drive business growth. 

  • Demonstrates excellent presentation, verbal, written, organizational and communication skills
