Job description


ATS+Partners is seeking diverse candidates to join charter school boards and nonprofits across Los Angeles, CA. Selected candidates will be placed on boards that are looking for new talent. Participating boards govern charter schools in Los Angeles County, including South Los Angeles, Pasadena, Lynwood, Pico Union, and the San Fernando Valley.
Individuals who are selected will:
  • Attend comprehensive training before joining the board
  • Be strategically matched to a board in need of their skills, and receive support throughout thematching stages
  • Play an active role in ensuring that every aspect of board governance is optimized for students to thrive - from advising on a strategy to building community relationships to driving academic growth toraising funds for new programs
  • Build new connections with professionals in the area, as well as with the education reform workhappening in and outside of Los Angeles

Requirements
Qualifications:
To make a significant positive impact, ideal candidates will have:
•A passion for educational equity for all children
•Over 7+ years of professional and/or community leadership experience
•Particular expertise in one or more relevant areas (e.g, finance, HR, education, facilities, etc.)
•A collaborative and action-oriented outlook
•High standards for personal ethics and integrity
•Willingness to participate in governance training
Commitment:
Specific requirements vary by each board, but in general, board members should expect to:
•Fully participate in the work of the board for the duration of the board term, including participation in at least one training event over the course of board service
•Commit approximately 5+ hours per month for board work
•Consistently attend board and committee meetings
•Actively contribute skills, knowledge, network, and resources
