Job description

Job Title: Fire Watch Support
Department: Safety & Security
Location: Newark, Ohio 43055 (On-site)
Employment Type: Contract Opportunity 
Schedule: 12-hour rotating shift (3 days on / 3 days off; day and night rotation every 28 days)
  • Day shift: 6:30 am to 6:30 pm
  • Night shift: 6:30 pm to 6:30 am
    Pay Rate: $15 per hour


Job Overview
We are looking for vigilant and safety-minded individuals to join our team as Fire Watch Support. In this role, you will patrol and monitor five designated facility areas throughout your shift, using a company-provided golf cart. Your main duty is to proactively monitor for fire risks and unsafe conditions, helping ensure the safety and protection of our facility and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patrol assigned facility areas continuously throughout each shift to identify potential fire hazards or unsafe conditions
  • Detect fire risks through observation, sight, and smell
  • Communicate hazards or unusual conditions promptly to team members and supervisors
  • Accurately follow company safety procedures and report any incidents or suspicious activities in a timely manner
  • Operate company-provided golf cart safely and responsibly


Key Requirements
  • Strong attention to detail and exceptional observation skills
  • Effective verbal communication with team members and supervisors
  • Ability to safely operate a golf cart (training provided if necessary)
  • Safety-focused mindset and commitment to company safety protocols


Work Environment
  • Outdoor patrol of facility grounds
  • Combination of physical movement and extended periods of sitting while operating a golf cart
