Job description

Description
The Development Operations Manager brings together data, technology, and organization to support the YMCA's fundraising efforts. From managing donor records and gifts to reporting, CRM systems, and process improvement, this role helps ensure the Development team has accurate information and effective tools to succeed.

  1. Thinks, communicates and behaves as a cause-driven leader and role model for other staff and members when it comes to desired staff behaviors; promotes youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility in all job-related functions.
  2. Manages CRM system/donor database, including maintenance, global changes, gift entry, reporting, queries, and data cleanup projects.
    1. Develops key performance indicators, communication dashboards and contributions reporting for leadership.
    2. Performs data entry for new and established records, record clean-up and restoration, establishes data procedures and coordinates data exchange with other departments.
    3. Handles the timely updating of relationship managers, opportunities, and other key processes to ensure smooth relationship mgmt for fundraisers.
    4. Manages the tracking and reporting on donor and partner pipeline cultivation; track follow up and progress.
    5. Prepares financial report for monthly and year-end reconciliation with the Finance department; handles any follow up as needed.
  3. Administrator for the association's gift acceptance, gift acknowledgement, pledge fulfillment, and donor data management processes, including accurate and timely recording of donor data consistent with generally accepted accounting principles, in close partnership with the YMCA's Accounting Team.
  4. Handles list generation and identifies audiences to support the Department in providing an optimal donor experience by engaging YMCA supporters in meaningful content across campaigns to connect them to the impact of their support.
  5. Utilizes and seen as go-to expert on multiple databases for CRM relationship and gift management, online giving, wealth screening, and website features.
  6. Assists with some project support in execution of the YMCA's annual giving strategy, including staff giving and community engagement
  7. Supports special events planning where the development team is playing a leading or supporting role.
  8. Provides executive support for Chief Development Officer and VP of Development to include schedule coordination, travel arrangements, and administrative assistance.
  9. Ability to work effectively with diverse groups and viewpoints from all social and economic segments of the organization and community. A commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism is expected from our staff.
  10. Adheres to policies related to boundaries with youth. Participates in required abuse risk management training. Reports suspicious and inappropriate behaviors. Follows mandated abuse reporting requirements. Adheres to job-specific abuse risk management responsibilities.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. Ideal candidates will have 2-4 years of professional experience in data entry, database management, finance, or related fields.
  3. Experience to continually improve data accuracy including standardizing data codes designating campaigns, funds and appeals.
  4. Must have demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service to all constituents.
  5. Proficient with numbers, basic math, cash handling and entry-level bookkeeping practices.
  6. The ability to manage time and work on multiple projects is essential.
  7. Must be detail oriented with a strong work ethic and integrity.
  8. Ability to embrace change and excel in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment.
  9. Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel & mail merge is essential, as well as database management. Experience in Google Suite and Raiser's Edge NXT desired.
