About the Role:

As an Account Manager at McGohan Brabender, you will play a pivotal role in building and maintaining strong client relationships. Your primary responsibility will be to provide exceptional service to our clients, helping them navigate the complex world of employee benefits. As the leader of an Account Management Team, you will work closely with clients to understand their needs, develop tailored benefits solutions, and ensure that these solutions are effectively implemented and managed. The ideal candidate will be a proactive and detail-oriented individual who is passionate about helping clients and their employees make informed decisions about their benefits packages.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients by understanding their business needs and objectives as well as serving as their primary point of contact.

2. Compliance and Regulatory Knowledge: Stay up to date on the latest regulations and compliance requirements in the insurance and benefits industry, ensuring our clients remain in adherence with applicable statutes and required filings. Conduct compliance checklist meetings.

3. Benefits Consultation: Collaborate with clients to assess their current benefits offerings and provide expert guidance on plan design and customization, look for ways clients can enhance their benefit offerings.

4. Benefit Implementation: Work with vendors, clients, and internal teams to design and implement customized benefits packages for employees.

5. Benefit Communication to Employees: Facilitate and present open enrollment materials for open enrollment meetings (in-person/virtual), empowering employees to make informed decisions about their benefits. Open enrollment materials include, but are not limited to, an open enrollment presentation, Xplore website, and/or benefit overview.

6. Technology Utilization: Stay informed on benefits technology platforms clients may utilize to streamline administration and enhance employee and client experiences. Additionally, take full advantage of the Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint.

7. Reporting and Analysis: When applicable, provide clients with regular reports and analysis of their benefits programs, including cost management, utilization, and employee satisfaction.

8. Renewal Management: Assist clients with the renewal of their benefits plans, negotiate with vendors/carriers, provide recommendations for benefits including cost management analysis. Manage relationships with insurance carriers, third-party administrators, and other benefit providers to ensure seamless renewal and service delivery.

9. Quoting Management: Work with Benefit Specialists to gather information required for market reviews. Provide requests for proposals to the Financial Analyst team, outlining market review strategies.

10. Team Development: Attend team training sessions and maintain active life and health insurance license with required continuing education courses.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (Business, Finance, Human Resources, etc.) preferred, experience may serve as an adequate substitute for a degree.
  • Previous experience in benefits consulting, employee benefits brokerage, human resources, or a similar role.
  • Life and Health License preferred.
  • Self-starter who will take initiative in meeting client's needs.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Dedicated note taker with strong follow through.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and project management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Comfortable presenting in front of groups.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
