Demand Planner

The Demand Planner is responsible for developing accurate forecasts and coordinating demand, inventory, materials, and production planning to support customer needs and business objectives. This role works closely with Supply Chain, Procurement, Production, Scheduling, Finance, and Client Services to identify trends, manage risks, and improve planning accuracy.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain rolling demand forecasts and inventory plans.
  • Analyze historical data, market trends, customer demand, and production activity to adjust forecasts.
  • Coordinate with Purchasing, Manufacturing, and Scheduling to ensure materials are available to meet production requirements.
  • Identify material shortages, delivery risks, and production constraints and work with suppliers and internal teams to resolve issues.
  • Support S&OP meetings and cross-functional planning activities.
  • Maintain ERP/MRP systems, master data, planning processes, SOPs, and work instructions.
  • Monitor inventory discrepancies and production order shortages and support OTIF performance.
  • Communicate changes in demand, shipments, materials, and production priorities across departments.
  • Provide scheduling support and assist with other supply chain initiatives as needed.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in demand, production, supply, or materials planning within manufacturing.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Strong Excel, analytical, forecasting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of S&OP, inventory planning, Lean/Six Sigma, and manufacturing processes.
