Job description

Responsibilities
  • Ensure reliability, safety, and efficiency of electrical systems.
  • Apply technical expertise to support day‑to‑day operations and long‑term infrastructure planning.
  • Design, evaluate, and maintain electrical systems including power distribution, backup power, and control systems.
  • Lead and support preventative and corrective maintenance efforts for critical electrical infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues to minimize downtime and ensure system reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support capital projects, system upgrades, and operational improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and internal policies.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including schematics, specifications, and maintenance procedures.
  • Provide engineering support for root‑cause analysis, system optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend innovations that enhance performance and efficiency.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in electrical engineering within the natural gas or petrochemical industry; PE certification preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical codes and standards (e.g., NEC, IEEE, NFPA 70E).
  • Experience with power systems, including low and medium voltage distribution, UPS systems, and generators.
  • Proficiency in engineering tools and software (e.g., AutoCAD, ETAP, SKM, or similar).
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with a focus on safety and reliability.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams.
  • A proactive mindset and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
