JOB SUMMARY
PRN Physical Therapist will provide coverage based on need requested by Knox Community Hospital and will participate in the weekend and holiday rotations for patient care. A Massage Therapist manipulates the muscles to treat general pains, tired and overworked muscles, stress-related pains and sports injuries. Care will be provided to clients of all ages from pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric. The Massage Therapist is responsible for delivering quality care to help clients attain maximum functional level. Responsible for being knowledgeable of standard of practice for the practice of Massage Therapy in a healthcare and medical fitness setting and regulations established by the payers.
Demonstrates critical thinking to assure the delivery of safe, quality care to adolescents, adult and geriatric clients. Responsible for excelling in courteous and respectful customer service at all times to every customer. Assures the safety of all customers. Effectively communicates with all customers. Effectively communicates & collaborates with other healthcare team members and between intra/inter departments, adheres to organizational policy and procedures, abides by regulatory/accrediting body requirements and professional practice standards. Assists with the daily operations and collecting statistics within the medical fitness center. Responsible for completing in a timely manner, all assigned tasks and duties utilizing multi-tasking skills. Responsible for assuring confidentiality of customer information and departmental information.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Delivers quality care to benefit the client in relaxation and therapeutic needs.
  • Keeps accurate and up-to-date records regarding a client's condition before and after massage therapy session in cases of a client being treated for a specific condition.
  • Records proper charging of clients treatments.
  • Provide consistent professional massage treatments.
  • Effectively inform and educate our clients about specific wellness concerns as it relates to massage therapy.
  • Uphold the standards of sanitation and sterilization as directed by the law and hospital polices and procedures.
  • Respect client's privacy by supplying proper draping techniques.
  • Acknowledge professional limitations and refer the client to an appropriate health professional when necessary, in cases where massage may be or is contraindicated.
  • Provide sensitive attention and response to client's comfort levels for pressure and touch, and shall not cause bruising with any regularity.

Requirements Include
  • EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • An associate's or diploma degree in Massage Therapy from an accredited program
  • Current license as a Massage Therapist in the State of Ohio
  • Ability to work variable days and hours as necessary.
  • Current CPR certification
