Job Location: Valley Ford Inc - Columbus, OH 43228

Salary Range: $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 Base+Commission/month

Job Purpose
  • The Controller is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the organization, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and compliance with all regulatory requirements. This role involves managing the accounting team, developing financial strategies, and providing insights to support decision-making processes. MUST have previous dealership experience. CDK knowledge is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the preparation and accuracy of financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and internal controls.
  • Manage the accounting team, including recruitment, training, and performance evaluation.
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with senior management to develop financial strategies and provide insights for business growth.
  • Coordinate audits and liaise with external auditors to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Monitor cash flow, manage financial risks, and optimize the organization's financial position.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for stakeholders, including the board of directors and executive team.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure the organization's financial practices remain current and compliant.

QualificationsRequired Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or CPA certification is preferred.
Required Experience
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles.
  • Proven experience in a leadership role, managing financial operations and teams.
  • Experience working in a corporate environment, preferably within the industry relevant to the company's operations.
  • Demonstrated experience with financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Experience with accounting software and financial management systems.
Required Skills and Abilities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities, with a focus on mentoring and developing staff.
  • High level of proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and compliance standards.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments to achieve financial objectives and support strategic initiatives.

Must be able to pass background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle report.
