Job description

Cocktail Server
Position Description:
To serve beverages to Lounge guests.
Work Performed:
  • Keep tables in the lounge area clean
  • Greets customer and takes food and beverage orders
  • Enters orders into POS system for bartender to prepare beverages and kitchen to prepare food
  • Picks up drinks and food when orders are ready and serves guests
  • Prepares and delivers check and accepts payment from guests

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for 8 to 10 hour shifts.
  • Ability to walk, reach, bend, stoop and wipe to perform essential job functions.
  • Ability to lift and carry supplies and equipment up to 40 pounds and place items on high and low shelves.
  • Ability to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations during busy periods.

Required Experience:
  • Must adhere to all State, Federal and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests to insure all laws are being followed.
  • Polite, friendly manner to deal with customers
  • Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a computer to enter orders and prepare checks.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity in hands in order to use a knife to make garnish, pick up glassware and bottles, scoop ice, mix drinks, and reach overhead to retrieve stock.
  • Ability to read, speak and understand the English language in order to communicate with guests and take orders.

Training amp; Experience:
Cocktail experience required. Work well with or without direct supervision. Must be flexible to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the restaurant. Must be able to perform all related duties as assigned. Food Handling, CPR, First Aid certificates preferable. Must attend Alcohol Awareness training program. Must be able to legally prove age of at least 21 years.
Required Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
