Responsibilities

The Cocktail Lounge Attendant hosts and prepares our guests’ drinks and serves meals in the Cocktail Lounge and surrounding area(s). This individual has excellent customer service skills, a warm personality, and a basic knowledge of coffee drink, cocktail, and food preparation/service. The Cocktail Lounge Attendant recognizes the role of fine dining in surprising visitors and driving sales where applicable. The Cocktail Lounge Attendant is responsible for setting and clearing tables, taking guests’ food and beverage orders, serving guests in a timely and professional manner, and all other aspects of the cocktail lounge operations.

  • Provide a high level of customer service at all times.
  • Anticipate resident’s needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests, however busy and at whatever time of day.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of cocktail lounge and restaurant(s) operations and proper table set up and dining venue dress code.
  • Serve residents and guest's meals and beverages as requested.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of and strictly abide by state liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors, intoxicated persons, and drunk driving.
  • Adhere to Quality Enhancement standards and standard food safety practices.
  • Properly store, use, and handle chemicals using the proper PPE and safety measures as laid out in the manufacturer’s instructions, the chemicals’ Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and Company standards.
  • Maintain knowledge of the characteristics and description of every wine and beverage available.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of Toast and/or Point Of Sale (POS) systems, as well as manual systems.
  • Process payments through the POS system(s).
  • Adhere to all cash handling and credit policies/procedures.
  • Ensure that all drink orders are accurately rung into the POS system.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, prices (when applicable), preparation method/time, major ingredients, and quality standards of taste, appearance, texture, serving temperature, portion size, and method of presentation.
  • Set tables in accordance with Company standards.
  • Open and close Cocktail Lounge according to checklists.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment; use equipment only as intended.
  • Wash and sanitize glassware, cups, flatware, and other service wares as needed.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of the bar top, tables, service areas, and the overall appearance of the Cocktail Lounge to ensure a consistently inviting environment for guests.
  • Clearly communicate last call at the designated closing time to guests and servers.
  • Legibly document designated items on the waste log.
  • Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and other beverages to customers according to their preferences.
  • Operate espresso machines, coffee grinders, and other equipment to brew and prepare barista-style beverages.
  • Complete temperature logs and par stock lists on a daily basis.
  • May perform other duties as needed and/or assigned.

Qualifications

  • One (1) or more years of customer service experience.
  • Must be twenty one (21) years of age or older if required by applicable law.
  • Basic Computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • TIPS or other alcohol service training, and food handlers certificate where applicable.
  • Strong organization, multi-tasking, time management, and customer service skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Must successfully complete all Atria specified training programs.
