Job Title: PM Cocktail Server
Location: Hyatt Regency Indianapolis

Job Summary:
We are seeking a personable and professional PM Cocktail Server to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly service to our guests, ensuring their dining experience exceeds expectations. Your primary responsibility is to take and serve beverage and food orders, maintain a clean and organized workspace, and contribute to the overall success of the restaurant.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Order Taking: Promptly and accurately take and place food and beverage orders with the bartender or kitchen staff following the prescribed procedures.
  • Menu Knowledge: Answer any guest questions regarding the menu, including cooking methods, ingredients, and daily specials.
  • Service Delivery: Serve food and drinks in a timely manner, ensuring that appearance, temperature, and portions meet restaurant standards.
  • Payment Processing: Prepare guest checks, present them accurately, and handle all payment methods, including cash and room charges.
  • Customer Engagement: Build positive guest relationships by providing friendly, professional, and attentive service, anticipating guest needs.
  • Cleaning & Resetting: Clean, clear, and reset tables quickly after guests depart, ensuring the dining area maintains a polished and organized look.
  • Stocking & Restocking: Clean and restock service items such as glassware, napkins, and utensils, keeping the service station well-supplied and ready for the next guest.

Non-Essential Functions:

  • Assist in seating guests and providing menus when needed.
  • Support colleagues by helping with other tasks in the restaurant as required.

Physical & Safety Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to carry trays of drinks and plates of food, with loads occasionally exceeding 30 pounds.
  • Regularly lift, pull, and push materials up to 30-40 pounds, such as cases of wine, ice, or other bar supplies.
  • Comfortable working in high-pressure situations and maintaining composure while handling multiple orders simultaneously.
  • Perform repetitive tasks, such as reaching, bending, and lifting, in adherence to health and safety regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a server, cocktail server, or in a similar role is preferred but not required.
  • Excellent communication and hospitality skills, with the ability to engage with guests and provide outstanding service.
  • Ability to read and write English fluently; TIPS training or equivalent responsible beverage service certification preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and speed in order-taking and service.
  • Familiarity with restaurant point-of-sale systems, such as Micros, is a plus.
  • Professional appearance, punctuality, and reliability are essential.
  • Flexible scheduling, including the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
