Summary:

The Senior BI Developer leads the design of dashboards, data models, data integration processes, and reporting solutions utilizing Power BI, Amazon QuickSight, SQL Server, and AWS data services. This position also supports enterprise data governance, reporting standards, and analytics best practices to help maximize the value of organizational data assets. The Senior BI Developer is primarily focused on business intelligence, analytics, and data engineering, with limited responsibility for supporting database performance and data platform reliability.

The Senior BI Developer supports the National Registry’s mission by transforming organizational data into accurate, accessible, and actionable information that supports evidence-based decision-making and continuous improvement. This role strengthens the organization’s ability to understand assessment outcomes, operational performance, stakeholder needs, and other critical measures by developing reliable business intelligence, analytics, and reporting solutions. Through enterprise dashboards, data models, reporting platforms, and data integration processes, this position enables leaders and teams to use consistent, trustworthy data to inform strategic and operational decisions. By advancing data governance, data quality, reporting standards, and self-service analytics, this role helps ensure that organizational information can be effectively used across functions and shared with stakeholders when appropriate.


Essential Functions:

  • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise dashboards, scorecards, reports, semantic modules, and data visualizations using analytics platforms.
  • Partner with business leaders and stakeholders to define reporting requirements, KPIs, metrics, and analytics objectives, translating business questions into scalable and user-friendly reporting solutions.
  • Develop self-service business intelligence capabilities and present analytical findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders in support of executive, operational, and strategic decision-making.
  • Design and maintain dimensional data models, semantic models, and enterprise reporting datasets that support accurate, scalable, and high-performing analytics solutions.
  • Support the evolution of cloud-based data warehouses and analytics platforms and collaborate with infrastructure teams to optimize data platform performance, scalability, and availability.
  • Develop, optimize, an maintain ETL and ELT processes that integrate data from enterprise applications, cloud platforms, APIs, and external sources to support reporting and analytic initiatives.
  • Utilize AWS services to develop and maintain reliable data processing and analytics solutions while troubleshooting integration and performance issues.
  • Support enterprise data governance and stewardship initiatives by establishing data validation, quality control, standardized reporting definitions, and processes that improve data accuracy, consistency, and availability.
  • Create and maintain metadata, data dictionaries, reporting documentation, and other resources that promote consistent and effective data use of organizational data.
  • Perform advanced SQL development, query optimization, and database performance tuning to support reporting and analytics workloads.
  • Assist with database administration and collaborate with technical teams to address data platform performance, scalability, availability, and operational needs.
Requirements:

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Analytics, Data Engineering, or related fields required.
  • Advanced Power BI experience including: DAX, Power Query, Data Modeling, Report Development, Dashboard Architecture
  • Experience with Amazon QuickSight.
  • Experience building cloud-based analytics solutions in AWS environments.
  • Experience developing ETL/ELT processes and integrating multiple data sources.

Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of dimensional modeling and data warehousing concepts.
  • Ability to build partnerships with business leaders, IT team, vendors, and stakeholders to deliver secure and reliable technology solutions.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving.
  • Expert-level SQL Server and T-SQL.

Other Requirements:

  • Must be able to successfully work in an office environment.
  • Must be able to travel up to 5 nights per year.
