Job Summary:
MDAEdge is a company focused on ensuring the stability and resilience of IT infrastructure. They are seeking an IT Continuity & Resilience Engineer to manage backup solutions, lead disaster recovery plans, and collaborate with various teams to optimize continuity strategies.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Ensure the stability, security, and resilience of company IT infrastructure across NY, OH, and CA sites.
โ€ข Focus on backups, disaster recovery, business continuity, and high availability.
โ€ข Work with infrastructure, security, and business teams to plan and optimize continuity strategies.
โ€ข Solve problems quickly while building maintainable, scalable solutions.
โ€ข Work independently toward goals and collaborate well under pressure.
โ€ข Build and manage backup solutions to protect data integrity and availability.
โ€ข Lead and test disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
โ€ข Perform regular DR testing and validate recovery objectives.
โ€ข Maintain clear documentation for DR strategies, policies, and procedures.
โ€ข Partner with security on data protection and compliance best practices.
โ€ข Design, deploy, and maintain servers, storage, networking, and cloud systems.
โ€ข Implement high-availability, failover, and load balancing for critical systems.
โ€ข Monitor performance, capacity, and uptime to meet service levels.
โ€ข Automate and optimize to improve reliability and efficiency.
โ€ข Resolve issues quickly and prevent recurrence through root-cause actions.
โ€ข Act as a primary responder for resilience incidents with minimal downtime.
โ€ข Run post-incident reviews and strengthen prevention strategies.
โ€ข Identify vulnerabilities and implement proactive risk mitigations.
โ€ข Keep recovery procedures current, accurate, and accessible.
โ€ข Follow internal IT controls and required policy training.
โ€ข Align with frameworks and regulations such as NIST and GxP.
โ€ข Implement encryption and secure data storage solutions.
โ€ข Partner with cybersecurity to address vulnerabilities and threats.
โ€ข Stay current on evolving threats and resilience best practices.
โ€ข Align continuity and infrastructure strategies with business objectives.
โ€ข Track industry trends and emerging technologies to improve resilience.
โ€ข Train IT teams on continuity and recovery best practices.
Qualifications:
Required:
โ€ข Bachelor's in information systems or computer science preferred, or 5+ years of related experience.
โ€ข 5+ years in IT infrastructure engineering and support.
โ€ข Proven experience in disaster recovery planning, systems engineering, or business continuity.
โ€ข Strong knowledge of backups, replication, and recovery tools.
โ€ข Deep skills in networking, storage, virtualization, and high availability.
โ€ข Experience with automation and orchestration for DR and failover.
โ€ข Understanding of NIST, GxP, and cybersecurity best practices.
โ€ข Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills.
โ€ข Effective under pressure with strong problem-solving skills.
โ€ข Experience in midsize enterprise environments.
Preferred:
โ€ข Experience with Arcserve is a plus.
