GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Wilen is a data-driven marketing services provider delivering innovative solutions that help organizations connect with their customers across channels.
We are seeking a highly dependable Data Engineer to support and enhance our enterprise data integration ecosystem. This role is primarily focused on system integration (approx. 66%) using SSIS and Azure Data Factory, with a secondary responsibility as a backup SQL Server DBA (approx. 34%) supporting our production database environment.
The ideal candidate is a steady, reliable professional who takes ownership of critical data pipelines and infrastructure-someone who keeps the buses running and ensures data flows consistently, securely, and efficiently across systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES (including, but not limited to):
All lawful directives of your supervisor or a member of Company management
Data Integration & Engineering (66%)
  • Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using SSIS and Azure Data Factory
  • Build and support integrations across diverse data sources
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data workflows
  • Implement robust error handling, logging, and validation processes
  • Translate business requirements into scalable data solutions
  • Support modernization from on-prem to cloud

SQL Server DBA Backup (34%)
  • Provide secondary support for SQL Server and Azure SQL Managed Instance
  • Assist with Availability Groups, backups/restores, and HA configurations
  • Monitor performance and implement tuning improvements
  • Support patching, upgrades, and maintenance
  • Participate in incident response as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Proven track record in system integration and data pipelines
  • Strong experience with SQL Server, SSIS, and Azure Data Factory
  • Experience with Availability Groups and Azure SQL Managed Instance
  • Strong SQL and performance tuning skills
  • Experience with structured and semi-structured data
  • Solid data validation and error handling practices

Preferred Qualifications
  • Hybrid cloud/on-prem experience
  • CI/CD for data pipelines
  • Cloud storage integration (Azure Blob, S3)
  • Scripting (PowerShell, Python)
  • Data governance and security exposure
