Job description

Summary: This role is responsible for conducting quality assurance audits and reviews of underwriting files, processes, and workflows to ensure adherence to underwriting guidelines, company standards, regulatory requirements, and operational expectations. This role partners with underwriting teams and business leaders to identify opportunities for improvement, support consistency in underwriting practices, and contribute to overall quality initiatives across the organization.
What You'll Be Doing:
  • Conduct quality assurance audits, file reviews, and/or process evaluations in accordance with established standards and procedures.
  • Evaluate underwriting decisions, documentation, pricing, referrals, and compliance with established guidelines and authority levels.
  • Document audit findings, trends, and observations in a clear and timely manner.
  • Prepare and present constructive feedback and recommendations to underwriting staff and leadership.
  • Support quality assurance calibration efforts to promote consistency in audit evaluations and scoring.
  • Analyze audit results and identify recurring quality concerns. Escalate trends or risks as appropriate.
  • Assist in maintaining audit procedures, documentation standards, and QA reporting tools.
  • Participate in process, workflow or quality improvement initiatives and discussions. (including system development enhancements)
  • Support training and onboarding efforts related to underwriting quality expectations and procedures.
  • Assist in development of UW documentation processes.
  • Maintain accurate records of audit activity, results, and follow-up actions.
  • Assist in developing reporting, dashboards, and quality performance metrics to support leadership decision-making.

What You'll Bring To The Company:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
5+ years of Commercial Lines underwriting, quality assurance, audit or related insurance experience.
Working knowledge of underwriting principles, policy language, coverage interpretation, and underwriting authority structures.
Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to provide constructive feedback in a collaborative and professional manner.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and other business systems/tools.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of underwriting operations, insurance processes, or applicable regulatory requirements.
Experience working cross-functionally with operational and business leadership teams.
Experience with reporting and data analysis tools.
