Job description

Location: Remote (Ohio-based applicants preferred) Industry: Chapter & Community Outreach Position Summary:

All Aboard Ohio is seeking a Volunteer Coordinator to take outreach and public engagement opportunities identified

by AAO and make them visible to our volunteer base. This role recruits volunteers for events and public comment

opportunities, follows up to confirm participation, and ensures volunteers are prepared to represent AAO effectively

— working closely with the Outreach Opportunities Coordinator, the Public Engagement Process Researcher, and

the communications team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Share upcoming outreach events and public engagement opportunities with AAO's volunteer base
  • Recruit and confirm volunteers for presentations, tabling events, hearings, and public comment
  • Follow up with signed-up volunteers to confirm attendance and answer questions
  • Prepare volunteers with talking points, materials, or logistics ahead of each opportunity
  • Coordinate with the communications team to promote opportunities and share volunteer stories
  • Track volunteer participation and follow up after events for feedback
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong communication and follow-through skills
  • Comfortable coordinating multiple people and schedules at once
  • Organized and responsive to volunteer questions and last-minute changes
  • Interest in community organizing, volunteer management, or grassroots advocacy
