Job description

Do you want to operate and work on modern well-maintained equipment for a change? Are you mechanically inclined? Do you have experience operating heavy equipment?
We are currently seeking self-motivated and dependable full-time Maintenance Operator. As a Maintenance Operator, you will regularly be maintaining/fixing equipment, operating the aggregate plant, and operating a front-end loader (once trained).
Maintenance Operators work in a fast-paced environment and are provided with a variety of challenges. We are proud to use modern and well-maintained equipment. Being able to think and act on your own is very important for this role.
Core Competency Areas & Responsibilities:
1. Equipment Operation & Production Support

  • Operate a front-end loader safely and efficiently to feed material into the aggregate processing plant.
  • Perform routine equipment inspections and complete daily preventative maintenance and safety checks.
  • Use programmable logic controls (PLCs) for basic operation and system monitoring as required.
2. Mechanical Maintenance & Troubleshooting
  • Conduct diagnostics, maintenance, and repair of plant equipment including screens, conveyor belts, crushers, and motors.
  • Replace and adjust mechanical components to ensure proper equipment function.
  • Maintain operational continuity by identifying wear or failures and correcting issues quickly.
3. Fabrication & Tool Use
  • Use welding, cutting, and fabrication skills to repair or reinforce plant components as needed.
  • Operate a variety of hand and power tools including grinders, cutting torches, impact wrenches, and more.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in safe, working condition.
4. Safety & Compliance
  • Work in compliance with all company policies, safety protocols, and environmental regulations.
  • Support the creation of a safe work environment through hazard recognition and proactive risk mitigation.
  • Participate in safety meetings and training programs.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
  • Mechanical Aptitude: Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Heavy Equipment Operation: Experience operating front-end loaders or similar equipment.
  • Welding & Fabrication: Basic to intermediate welding and fabrication experience.
  • Safety Awareness: Commitment to maintaining a clean, hazard-free, and compliant work environment.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for reporting and coordination.
  • Physical Endurance: Ability to lift 50 lbs., work in inclement weather, and climb ladders/stairs up to 24 feet.
Minimum Requirements:
  • High school diploma, GED, or High School Equivalency (HSE).
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Prior experience in a plant or industrial setting, particularly with aggregates or construction materials.
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and flexible shifts as needed.
