Design, develop and installs advanced software solutions. Build high-quality, innovative and fully performing software in compliance with internal architecture, development & design standards & best practices. Design, modify, develop, write, implement and troubleshoot software programming applications. Support and/or install software applications. Participate in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software. Works within a Waterfall or Agile methodology/framework based team. Collaborates heavily with Project Management, Business Analyst and Infrastructure Job Families.**Job Description****What you’ll do:*** Responsibilities include one or more of the following for any sized project: Develop solutions to resolve customer and prospective customer issues in a logical, creative and structured manner.* Align the client’s goals, needs and objectives to the solutions.* Communicate issues and status in a clear, timely manner.* Interpret specifications and build advanced solutions to those specifications.Support the business strategy by acting as an expert of the company's services and products, including usage, architecture, functionality and deployment.* Develop custom presentations and demonstrations.Generates infrastructure support documentation.* Make proposals and help to write request for proposal (RFP) responses.Evaluate and propose process improvements.* Maintain the highest level of knowledge about the company's software/hardware products.* May provide training and mentoring, as well as work direction, to others on the team.**What we’re looking for:****Education:*** Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field is required.**Experience:*** 7 years relevant work experience is required.* An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.**Other Must Haves:*** Demonstrated experience designing and delivering software solutions using modern AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot or similar.* Proven experience applying DevOps principles throughout the software development lifecycle, including CI/CD automation, infrastructure as code, monitoring, observability, security integration, and production support in enterprise environments.American Electric Power (On-Site)#LI-Onsite#AEPCareersAt AEP, we’re more than just an energy company — we’re a team of dedicated professionals committed to delivering safe, reliable, and innovative energy solutions.
