POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Copywriter, E-Comm leads the development of compelling brand and product storytelling that lives across various online retail platforms. With an eye for detail and a passion for content writing, this role crafts thoughtful, search engine-optimized wording that turns prospective e-commerce shoppers into engaged, brand-loyal customers. If you've ever bought something from Amazon, Walmart.com, or your favorite brand's website, an e-commerce copywriter's work helped guide you along the journey. Our ideal candidate has excellent writing and editing skills with a strong command of grammar and spelling, as well as the dependable ability to proofread one's own work and to self-edit where necessary. You'll also be working on an account with dozens of brands, each with their own unique audience, brand voice, and copy style-so an ability to quickly adapt and write in a multitude of tonalities is critical.
PLEASE NOTE: This open role is for our part-time Flex Force bench. As a Flex Force employee, you'll work on a project-by-project basis as needed.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Writes high-quality, SEO-optimized copy for consumers shopping Product Description Pages on various online retail platforms
  • Conducts keyword research and optimizes product titles, bullet points or key features, product descriptions, and back-end metadata with relevant, highly ranked keywords
  • Writes creative and descriptive copy for image tiles, below-the-fold enhanced content, retailer brand stores, sponsored ads, and additional digital content
  • Creates compelling headlines and engaging body copy that capture the target audience's attention while staying true to brand, regulatory, and retailer requirements
  • Adapts tone of voice and word choice to appropriately tailor the message for variances in platforms, audiences, and brands
  • Juggles multiple projects at once, managing time and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Journalism or related field
  • 6+ years progressive Communications, Journalism experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Occasional travel either locally, nationally, and/or internationally may be required.
  • High degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.
  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning).
  • Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts.
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients.
  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work with and influence peers and management.
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.
  • Proven experience with SEO and/or production description copywriting is a plus!
