    Job description


    Job Summary
    Responsible providing tax support on planning, audit, accounting and legal related matters for assigned business unit/subsidiary operations as they affect corporate taxes. Actively monitors developments within business unit/subsidiary operations and provide recommendations on related tax matters. Collaborates with other Corporate Departments as necessary.
    Job Responsibilities
    • Prepares and analyzes various tax laws, regulations and procedures. Analyzes and reviews monthly management reports.
    • Responsible for ad-hoc projects related to tax discipline. Analyzes and summarizes tax information and prepares reports of recommendations.
    • Supports team in the formulation of analyses relating to assigned tax area. Provides support with tax audit activities as applicable.
    • Coordinates, prepares and/or reviews tax returns, tax filings, registrations or any other tax compliance requirements as necessary.
    • Monitors tax law changes (as applicable), assesses impact on operations and makes recommendations to more experienced analysts. Implements approved changes.
    • Participates in projects and process improvements for the department.
    • Research and develops tax opportunities, contacting taxing authorities in securing credits, incentives and rebates.
    • Updates / maintains all spreadsheets and tax calendar.

    External Basic Qualifications
    • Bachelor's Degree OR High School Diploma/GED and at least 3 years of experience with public accounting, corporate tax and/or accounting at a firm, State department of revenue or company.
    • At least 1 year experience in reading and interpreting general business and tax periodicals, technical documents and government regulations.
    • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: using SUM function, setting borders, setting column width, inserting charts, using text wrap, sorting, setting headers and footers and/or print scaling).
    • Willing to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).

    Preferred Qualifications
    • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or Economics.
    • Previous internship experience in public accounting, corporate tax and/or accounting at a firm, State department of revenue or company.
    • Vertex experience a plus.
    • SAP experience a plus.
