Advanced MIG/TIG Welders - Stainless Steel Fabrication
Tenneco South Bend is an established manufacturer that is expanding and seeking highly skilled MIG/TIG Welders to join our growing team.
We are looking for welders who take pride in craftsmanship, hold themselves to high standards, take ownership of their work, and consistently deliver clean, accurate stainless steel welds in multiple positions while supporting and mentoring less experienced team members.
Advanced Welders start at $30/hour and progress to $35/hour based on demonstrated skills, weld test results, certifications, and overall performance An additional $0.50/hour shift premium is paid for second and third shifts. We are hiring for all shifts.

Job Description
General Summary
This position is responsible for performing high-quality MIG/TIG welding of stainless steel components in multiple welding positions. The Master Welder applies advanced welding techniques to meet engineering specifications, performs weld inspections and repairs, and supports the production of Clean Air components. Work may include confined spaces, elevated heights, and overhead crane operation. This position also supports a safe workplace and minimizes environmental impact by following all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform MIG/TIG welding on stainless steel components per engineering drawings and Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS)
  • Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions
  • Fabricate, assemble, and repair structural steel components
  • Inspect welds for quality, penetration, and compliance; repair defects as needed
  • Notify appropriate personnel of defects in a timely manner
  • Perform safety checks and preventative maintenance on equipment
  • Operate overhead cranes and lifting equipment safely
  • Weld in confined spaces and at heights while following all safety protocols
  • Mentor, train, and support developing welders
  • Pass Tenneco weld certification testing when required
  • Weld multiple joint types including filler, lap, corner, groove, and multi-pass welds
  • Assist in troubleshooting welding and fabrication issues to improve quality and productivity
