    Job Summary
    The Project Management Office (PMO) Director will lead and manage large, complex projects that span multiple plants within the organization. The PMO Director will be responsible for establishing the Project Management Office function and working in collaboration with project-based businesses across Southwire to deliver the foundational elements for achieving and sustaining world-class project performance. In conjunction with others, the PMO Director will institute the processes necessary for effective management of projects, and will select, deploy, and continually improve supporting procedures and software solutions that boost project-related business insight, improve decision-making, and drive productivity gains. Finally, the Director will be core to developing Project Management competence and will work with the businesses and P&C to ensure recruiting, training, and career advancement are supportive of the mission.
    Key Responsibilities
    • Establish PMO Function:Develop and implement the Project Management Office function that covers the entirety of the project value chain from developing winning project proposals to final project close-out with the customer. The Function will collaborate with the business and other key functions to deliver on its objectives.
    • Process Development:Create and establish a scalable and standardized gated Project Process for managing projects of various sizes and complexities while ensuring consistency, efficiency, and meeting commitments is universal across the project portfolio.
    • Procedure Development:Deploy detailed procedures and templates necessary to cover all aspects of the Project Process, including scope, schedule, cost, quality, resource, change, and overall risk management. In addition, procedures should be established for project team design with project-related role descriptions, effective teambuilding (both internally and with the customer), and communications during project delivery.
    • Digital Deployment:Select and deploy supporting digital solutions, including automation, AI, and project management software(s), that deliver a consolidated toolkit for managing both individual projects and the overall project portfolio.
    • Stakeholder Management:Deploy project governance that ensures timely and effective input from all necessary stakeholders, both internal and external, during the planning and execution of a project.
    • Continuous Improvement:Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance project management practices.
    • Contract Review and Administration: The PMO Director will be consulted on an as-needed basis during contract reviews and negotiations. The process by which existing and new contracts are reviewed and risk-assessed during proposal development and project execution is to be established by the PMO Function in conjunction with Legal.
    • Project Management Competence: The PMO Director will be responsible for the overall development of project management competence in relevant Southwire businesses. As the Center of Excellence for project management, the PMO function will develop and deliver competency development programs to cover training for all levels of Project Manager. Additionally, the PMO Function is responsible for developing the Project Management job family to provide a standardized basis for competency development and career path planning/advancement.
