    Position Summary:
    The Clinical Innovation Lead will enrich the digital health R&D roadmap with clinical insight, spanning from early research to late development. This candidate is a practicing physician who will bring a skillset of clinical, technical, product, interpersonal, and translational expertise. Initially as an individual contributor, this individual will be matrixed on core teams for individual projects and products.
    Position Responsibilities:
    Clinical Insights: Provide clinical insights and guidance for ongoing projects and new initiatives. Guided by principles of minimizing harm, maximizing health benefit, and increasing adoption of Samsung Health products.
    • De novo projects: New opportunity generation, including writing proposals for novel product concepts according to technical performance, clinical utility, and commercial value. Work closely with biosensors and algorithms team as required to map out use cases and performance requirements.
    • SaMD/Product Dev: Support SaMD feature design, product requirements & use case-specific product claims and portfolio prioritization. Specific support includes developing recommendations for appropriate clinical/user experience measures within the product requirements to minimize harm and maximize health benefit to users
    • Study design: Inform study design for research studies (including as-needed, protocol development, IRB approval, medical monitor), including Sponsored Research, algorithms, and biosensor studies. Ensure standardization against appropriate references and existing accepted study designs.
    • Evidence generation: support evidence generation across research, development, and commercial organizations to demonstrate performance of our products against reference, as well as health economic measures in real-world deployment.

    Partnerships: Engage with startups and other industry bodies to explore technologies which might be relevant to our future products.
    • External engagement: Engage external PIs and thought leaders as needed for consulting, research PI support, and advisory board involvement. Evangelize Samsung's efforts in digital health research in public forums. Engage university centers closely to grow industry-academia collaboration.

    Strategic support:
    • Digital health research strategy: support development and communication of SRA's digital health strategy, including deck creation for senior leadership.
    • Task force engagement: to support clinical perspective in strategic task force initiatives.

    Required Skills:
    • PhD/MD and extensive experience in clinical research and product innovation in digital health, or or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
    • 16+ years combined clinical practice and device/digital health work experience
    • MD with expertise in technical innovation and data science
    • Experience building or deploying products within healthcare, digital health, or consumer health applications
    • Excellent understanding of human physiology in conditions across health and wellness. At least three years of experience in patient care with focus on lifestyle and preventative medicine
    • Experience working with or advising digital health focused startups
    • Strong cross-functional leadership skills, with experience working across Product, Engineering, Data Science, and Clinical teams
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills

The base pay range for roles at this level is listed below, but may be higher or lower in other states due to geographic differentials in the labor market. Within the base pay range, individual rates depend on a number of factors-including the role's function and location as well as the individual's knowledge, skills, experience, education and training. This is part of our comprehensive compensation package with annual bonus eligibility and generous benefits to help you live life well.
