    Overview

    NOTE:  This is a hybrid position requiring on-site presence three days per week at one of our local offices, located in Allentown, PA (Lehigh Valley), Louisville, KY, or Providence, RI.   #LI-Hy   #INDPPL

    The Developer Team Lead designs develops, and tests solutions based on the functional and technical specifications to meet quality & performance requirements. They are expected to be proficient in a variety of technologies and languages (MEAN, MERN, C#, Java, C++, etc., Microservices, Cloud Architecture and API’s) to develop applications. The developer approaches software holistically, catering to both user experience and functionality. The developer dabbles in emerging technologies (e.g., machine learning, internet of things and Artificial Intelligence etc.) to develop solutions that improve business performance (e.g., proactive customer service, outage management, grid balancing, fraud detection, IoT security).

    The Team Lead is recognized as an expert in their functional area within the organization and works independently, under minimal guidance from their manager. May have direct responsibility of leading a small team of Developers, as required.  Progression to Team Leader level is limited based on business requirement.


    Responsibilities
    • Advance in depth emerging technology and software delivery knowledge
    • Collaborate with business users, system analysts, developers, and ecosystem partners to bring innovative ideas from conception to launch at scale.
    • Assist in analyzing and researching new and existing products, procedures, and/or workflow needs associated with business systems.
    • Work in an iterative/Agile environment and be a strong team player.
    • Adopt emerging technologies and launch products / services faster with rapid prototyping & iterative methods.
    • Proven ability to take prototypes to production, following engineering best practices.
    • Build, configure, or customize the technical solution (reusable components, preconfigured solutions, cloud solution and services)
    • Work very closely with the System Architect and multiple Technology teams to champion the adoption of patterns, platforms, and tools to support the usage and conformity of solution architecture.
    • Manage automation and monitor application integration as code iteratively goes through assembly and product tests.
    • Manages and mentors developers on job responsibilities.
    • May be assigned an Electric Utilities emergency and storm role. This is a special assignment that comes into play during storms and other emergencies when the company needs to restore power or respond to other issues affecting customer service. This role may necessitate the need to work after-hours, outside of your normal schedule.
    • The company reserves the right to determine if this position will be assigned to work on-site, remotely, or a combination of both. Assigned work location may change. In the case of remote work, physical presence in the office/on-site may be required to engage in face-to-face interaction and coordination of work among direct reports and co-workers.

    • Bachelor's degree and 7 years of related work experience OR 11 years of related work experience.
    • Background in software development and is familiar with one or more software languages such as C#, Java, Python etc.

    • Ability to effectively adapt to rapid technological and business change while maintaining enthusiasm and displaying sound judgment.

    • Ability to collaborate with internal and external teams to unblock critical issues during product development.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Master's Degree in relevant technology/industry areas.
    • Ability to collaborate with team members across different functional domains and technologies.
    • Working knowledge in one or more of emerging technologies (e.g., Microservices, DevOps, Multi-Cloud technologies, IoT, Intelligent Automation, RPA, Test automation, artificial intelligence, etc.)
    • Self-starter mentality and an ability to spin up, configure development and test environments.
    • Utilities industry experience.
    • Excellent interpersonal relations skills.
    • Solid understanding and practical experience with CX platforms such as Twillo (Flex), Acqueon, or NICE.
