Senior Technical Project Manager

Location: Orlando, FL (Onsite 2–4 days per week; schedule flexibility available. Work arrangement subject to change.)
Pay Rate: $83.89/hour

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Project Manager to lead and coordinate multiple complex technology initiatives supporting enterprise business objectives. This individual will oversee project planning, execution, stakeholder communication, risk management, and budget tracking while partnering closely with cross-functional technical and business teams.

The ideal candidate brings a strong background in managing large-scale technology projects, navigating matrixed organizations, and driving successful delivery through a combination of Agile and traditional project management methodologies.

Key ResponsibilitiesProject Planning & Strategy
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans aligned with business priorities and strategic objectives.
  • Define project scope, goals, deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements.
  • Establish long-term project objectives and implementation strategies to support successful outcomes.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment on priorities, milestones, and expectations.
  • Support resource forecasting and budget planning activities.
Project Execution & Delivery
  • Lead the execution and delivery of multiple concurrent technology initiatives.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure projects remain on schedule and within scope.
  • Monitor project progress, identify roadblocks, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Develop and maintain risk mitigation strategies to address potential project impacts.
  • Facilitate project meetings with team members, stakeholders, and senior leadership.
  • Manage project change control processes to ensure appropriate governance and approvals.
  • Track key performance indicators and project metrics to measure delivery success.
  • Ensure adherence to established quality standards and organizational processes.
Stakeholder Communication
  • Provide regular status updates, executive summaries, and project reporting to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Foster effective communication between technical teams, business partners, and project sponsors.
  • Coordinate stakeholder meetings and facilitate discussions to drive alignment and decision-making.
  • Deliver presentations related to project status, risks, dependencies, and strategic initiatives.
  • Support onboarding and training efforts related to project activities and deliverables.
Financial & Budget Management
  • Monitor project budgets and expenditures to ensure alignment with approved funding.
  • Partner with financial stakeholders to maintain accurate budget forecasts and reporting.
  • Perform budget tracking and support cost-benefit analysis activities.
  • Ensure project financial information remains current and transparent throughout the project lifecycle.
Leadership & Mentorship
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior and mid-level project managers.
  • Promote project management best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to the advancement of project management standards, methodologies, and governance processes.
  • Pursue ongoing professional development to remain current with industry trends and practices.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, or a related field; equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
  • 4+ years of experience managing technical programs and projects involving enterprise-level technology solutions.
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional teams within complex, matrixed organizations.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies, including Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Lean, and Waterfall, with the ability to apply blended approaches when appropriate.
  • Experience managing project scope, schedules, budgets, risks, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Working knowledge of technical architectures and the ability to collaborate effectively with engineering and technical teams.
  • Hands-on experience using project and application lifecycle management tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Understanding of Agile development practices, DevOps concepts, and software testing methodologies, including CI/CD and TDD.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, presentation, and time management skills.
  • Experience conducting budget tracking and supporting financial oversight activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize competing initiatives while maintaining delivery excellence.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience managing customer-facing digital, mobile, retail, or point-of-sale technology initiatives.
  • Background supporting hardware implementations, cloud migration efforts, or large-scale operational technology programs.
  • Experience utilizing Smartsheet for project tracking and executive dashboard reporting.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Agile certifications such as CSM, ACP, CSPO, SAFe, or similar credentials.
