Job description

Summary:

The Senior Director of Operational Reliability, Data Centers, is a critical leadership role responsible for ensuring the consistent, compliant, and reliable operation of all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) infrastructure across Oracle's global data center fleet. This position has overall accountability for MEP maintenance in accordance with Oracle's stringent standards and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) requirements, while also partnering collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to drive industry-leading operational excellence.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • MEP Infrastructure Maintenance:
    Lead the oversight and execution of preventive and corrective maintenance programs for all data center MEP assets, ensuring compliance with Oracle and OEM guidelines.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    Work closely with Vendor Management and Engineering teams to ensure appropriate equipment selection, timely adoption of OEM bulletins, and mitigation of potential risks.
  • Service Delivery & Validation:
    Oversee SCCS (System Capacity and Compliance Studies) and validate service delivery plans to assure operational capacity and readiness.
  • End-of-Life Planning & Quality Assurance:
    Guide end-of-life (EOL) strategies, ensuring thorough quality assurance reviews with Engineering and oversight of service development needs for equipment retirement and refresh projects.
  • Day 2 Operations Management:
    Proactively address 'day 2' operational issues to prevent potential impacts on critical IT load, ensuring business continuity.
  • Incident Management:
    Serve as escalation point and leader for incident response, overseeing tier 2 technical support for field teams and supporting the build-out, integration, and monitoring of Facility Operations Centers across the Oracle data center fleet.
  • Building Automation & Centralized Services:
    Lead the Building Automation Operations organization and centralized service functions to ensure consistent operational standards and rapid response across all facilities.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    Institute best practices, foster a culture of safety, compliance, and innovation, and drive ongoing improvements in operational reliability and performance metrics.

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only
US: Hiring Range in USD from: $161,700 to $338,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field (Master's preferred). Or equivelent education and experience.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in data center, critical environment operations, or facilities management roles, with significant leadership responsibility.
  • Deep technical knowledge of MEP systems and infrastructure maintenance, including adherence to regulatory and OEM standards.
  • Demonstrated experience with service delivery planning, incident management, and cross-disciplinary team leadership.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Experience developing and managing building automation and centralized monitoring systems (BMS, SCADA, CMMS).
  • Excellent oral and written communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Proven record of vendor management and contract oversight.
 

Preferred Attributes:

  • Professional certifications such as CFM, PMP, LEED AP, or equivalent.
  • Experience in large-scale, mission-critical infrastructure environments.
  • Strong understanding of risk management, quality assurance, and end-of-life asset strategies.
